Hello! I'm Clara. I'm from Virginia. I'm graduating this Tuesday and I am eager to go on an adventure to celebrate. I was wondering if you could suggest some good places to hike/camp along the east coast/in my area? I'm sure you've answered this a thousand times. I'm sorry. Thanks!

Virginia! Someone speaking my language. Hands down, my favorite place in VA to camp/hike is the Grayson Highlands/Mt. Rogers area. Mt. Rogers is the highest point in VA and Grayson Highlands is full of… wait for iiiiiitt… WILD PONIES. They pretty much make your day. Photos from my last trip there:

Hi! I love your blog! :) I'm going hiking in the Rockies in Colorado next week, and I was wondering if you have any "must see" trails to hike? Or any trails in Colorado in general? Thanks! :)

CO hikers! Can ya help a girl? (Reply to this post)

This is one of my favorite blogs :) Especially since I'm about to be going on a 9 day hiking trip all around Georgia!

:] A message like this is why I keep it going. Have some fun in Georgia! Beautiful country down there.

So I'm huge into spending all of my money (that I don't have) on gear. Gear sites that save you money like Clymb, leftlane, steep and cheap, cleansnipe are generally what I use most of the time but I was wondering if you (or any of your followers) knew of any other good ones that get you quality gear for a steal. There is no better way to waste your time or money.

i agree, friend! sometimes campmor is good. you guys have any other suggestions? pretty curious, myself. (reply to this post)

Hey! Just ordered one of those sweeeet t-shirts! I'm sure I'll be wearing it a lot this summer :)

Sending you an internet hug because that’s the best I can do. Thank you! I hope you enjoy it. 8)

Would you ever consider making shirts that just say 'BEAST MODE', for those particularily gruelling parts of the trail?

haha well sure! definitely considered! i don’t think we’re going to do another round of shirts, though. we didn’t lose any money last time but i just don’t think the demand is out there or another round. maybe in the future!

Are you making any more t-shirts?

Aww, unfortunately the only ones we have left are the ones on the website. There wasn’t enough demand to order another round. Hope you can find one your size there though! :]

I'm going backpacking in Green Ridge State Forest this weekend, do you (or anyone else) have any tips for this area? I don't know much about bear country.

Thankfully, I don’t really have to worry too much about bears in my area but I’m sure the FYHikers could help out! Any tips, guys? (Reply to this post)

Questions!

D: I get so many! I don’t want to bombard your dashes every day so I think I’ll just post one a day. I love that this is a blog you turn to for gear and hiking answers/help! Honestly, I’ve learned so much from the questions. They’ll all get answered one day.

And remember, there is a tagged questions link on the homepage if you want to go back and read them/see the answers.

Oh man, I just realised I sent you fanmail instead of an ask. I'm going to repost the question here, sorry about that: I'm hell-bent on going camping in Yosemite, CA. Coming from Canada, it's quite the trek, and I'll be going it alone. Everyone I speak to (not campers) tries to talk me out of it (b/c I'd be alone). So, is it really unsafe to go camping in Yosemite alone? PS, I'm not an inexperienced camper so that's not really the issue, it's just the being alone bit that I'm curious about.

FYHikers! Thoughts? (Reply to this post)

What about the Pacific Crest?

eventually, yes. i want to do the triple crown so throw in the continental divide trail, too. actually, i’d love to be the first woman to do the triple crown in one calendar year. dream big, right?
